SyncDub AI ("SyncDub", "we", "us", or "our") provides a Chrome extension that translates the audio of videos you watch in your browser in real time. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in, we use Google Sign-In (OAuth) to authenticate you. We receive your name, email address, and a unique Google account identifier from Google. We never see or store your Google password.
Usage & billing data. We record how many translation minutes you have used and have remaining, so your credit balance can be tracked and enforced. This is tied to your account, not to the content of what you translated.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Paddle, a third-party payment processor. SyncDub does not receive, see, or store your card or bank details. Paddle handles checkout directly and shares with us only confirmation that a payment succeeded, the purchased price, and a transaction ID.
Audio data. When you activate live translation on a video, audio from that browser tab is streamed in real time to Google's Gemini Live API for translation and voice synthesis. This audio is processed to generate a translated voice track and is not permanently stored by SyncDub's own servers. Audio in transit is handled according to Google's own applicable API terms and data-handling policies.
2. How We Use Information
To authenticate you and keep your session secure
To provide real-time audio translation while you use the extension
To track and enforce your remaining translation-minute balance
To process credit-pack purchases and keep your balance accurate
To detect abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service
To send you essential service notifications (e.g. low balance, payment confirmation)
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data to train AI models.
3. Third-Party Services
SyncDub relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it processes on our behalf:
Google (OAuth & Gemini Live API) — authentication and real-time audio translation
Supabase — secure database and authentication infrastructure for storing your account and credit balance
Paddle — payment processing for credit-pack purchases
4. Data Storage & Retention
Your account information and credit balance are stored securely in our database for as long as your account remains active. Local extension settings (such as your selected target language or volume preferences) are stored using Chrome's local storage on your own device and are never transmitted to us except where needed to operate the service.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 8). We will delete your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records for tax/audit purposes).
5. Your Rights
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Withdraw consent by disconnecting your Google account or uninstalling the extension at any time
6. Children's Privacy
SyncDub is not directed at, and should not be used by, individuals under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of SyncDub after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
8. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise any of your rights, please contact us through the support options available in the extension, or via syncdub.com.
