Real-time anime dubbing: watch anime in your language without waiting

Crunchyroll and Netflix ship dubbed versions of most anime, but with a 6–12 month delay. Here's how to watch them in your language now.

By SyncDub Team

The gap between the Japanese broadcast of a new anime and the official English dub can be six months to a year. Hindi, Tamil, Portuguese, and Spanish dubs take even longer. Real-time AI dubbing closes that gap — at the cost of some quality on tone and acting.

What to expect

The dub captures dialogue and narration. It doesn't capture singing, sound effects, or musical cues. Lip-sync is approximate. Emotional delivery is consistent but flatter than a professional voice actor.

Setup for anime fans

  1. Install SyncDub AI.
  2. Open your anime streaming site. Set the player's audio to Japanese (or whatever the original is).
  3. In the extension, pick 'Japanese → your language'.
  4. Hit play. The dub follows the original within ~320ms.

Best anime to try

  • Slice-of-life (Spy × Family, Kaguya-sama) — dialogue-heavy, translates cleanly.
  • Mystery / thriller (Death Note, Monster) — straightforward narration, fewer slang idioms.
  • Cooking shows (Ramen Akaneko) — repetitive vocabulary, easy to dub.
