Most dubbing tools are designed for long-form video: 10-minute YouTube videos, hour-long lectures, full TV episodes. Short-form video — Reels, TikTok, Shorts — has different requirements: faster turnaround, lower tolerance for delay, often no dialogue at all.
What works
- Reels with dialogue — translates fine.
- TikTok narration — fast pace, the dub keeps up.
- YouTube Shorts — same as YouTube VOD, ~320ms latency.
What doesn't
- Music-led Reels — the dub plays over the music but doesn't replace it.
- Pure visual content (cooking Reels with no narration) — nothing to translate.
- Trendy audio that uses copyrighted music — we still capture and dub over it.
Setup
Open the Reel or TikTok in Chrome (use TikTok's web player, not the mobile app). The dubbing works the same way as for longer videos.
